Fujitsu Stylistic ST5031 Battery
The standard device, VPC-SB1S1E/W, only achieves 6187 points with its i5-2410M. The communication sub-score proves to have the biggest difference (9299 to 5990 points). The reason: The i5-2520M of our pre-series device has the business function, Intel VT-d, Trusted Execution Technology and AES Instructions.<a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/toshiba-pa3728u-1brs.htm">Toshiba PA3728U-1BRS Battery</a></p>
<p>PCMark Vantage's HDD sub-score is 3380 points, which is a slightly above average result for a 5200 rpm HDD. Only a faster 7200 rpm hard disk can top that with about 3500 points. SSDs play in a completely different league (20 to 25 thousand points). The hard disk (500 GB) from Western Digital reads with 64 MB/s in sequential read. The standard device's rates are equal (same HDD model).<a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/toshiba-pa3786u-1brs.htm">Toshiba PA3786U-1BRS Battery</a></p>
<p>Just alone the (512 MB) Radeon HD 6470M's nomenclature makes it obvious that the DirectX 11 GPU is an entry level card. The GPU clocks above AMD's specifications with 800/900 MHz (core/memory). <a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/toshiba-pa3787u-1brs.htm">Toshiba PA3787U-1BRS Battery</a></p>
<p>Some application programs can exploit the 160 stream processors for calculating via DirectX 11, OpenGL 4.1, DirectCompute 11 or OpenCL. The UVD3 video decoder takes care of the hardware support in movie matters (MVC, DivX, xVid, MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, VC-1, MPEG-2, Adobe Flash Video).<a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/toshiba-pa3788u-1brs.htm">Toshiba PA3788U-1BRS Battery</a></p>
<p>The gaming performance isn't the main issue of rating. 4615 3DMark06 are an indication for acceptable entry gaming though. We have executed a random test with an older (Left4Dead) and a newer (Mafia2) game. <a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/toshiba-pabas221.htm">Toshiba PABAS221 Battery</a></p>
<p>The Radeon HD 6470M is good to go for a game of Mafia2 or StarCraft2. However, only in a coarse resolution and clearly reduced details. <a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/toshiba-pabas222.htm">Toshiba PABAS222 Battery</a>You'll find a smooth game play if you're into older or less demanding games such as Anno 1404, Left4Dead or Fifa 11. If you'd like more information you should look at the Raden HD 5470. The 6470M is likely a bit above its performance due to the higher shader rate and the faster Sandy Bridge processor.<a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/toshiba-pabas223.htm">Toshiba PABAS223 Battery</a></p>
<p>The Vaio SB makes an acceptable but not very good impression in terms of system noise. We can't confirm the fears of a few readers who expected the worst from the partly covered vent. We executed the BIOS update, R1030H4 (BIOS update Vaio VPC-SB1). The pre-series device and the standard model react equally.<a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/toshiba-pabas231.htm">Toshiba PABAS231 Battery</a></p>
<p>The Vaio SB is always audible in idle mode (Stamina mode), even when the fan temporarily turns itself off. Now the rotating hard disk causes a whirring base noise of 31.5 dB(A). When the fan starts up or changes its speed, it does so with a slow, constant acceleration. We quite liked the characteristic of slow increases and gentle decreases.<a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/toshiba-pabas232.htm">Toshiba PABAS232 Battery</a></p>
<p>But this doesn't hide the fact that the 13.3 incher makes quite a racket when the processor and/or Radeon graphics (Speed mode) are put under load. <a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/toshiba-pa3399u-2brs.htm">Toshiba PA3399U-2BRS Battery</a>The high-pitched noise reaches the 40 dB(A) mark quite fast (3DMark Vantage, Cinebench R11.5). We determine 47.7 dB(A) in the stress test (CPU&amp;GPU). At least the fan rotates evenly and rarely changes its speed. We hear a quiet, but rather fast decrease (20 seconds) at the end of the load phase.<a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/toshiba-pabas057.htm">Toshiba PABAS057 Battery</a></p>
<p>Since the fan is never constantly inactive, even in Stamina mode (HD 3000 enabled), waste heat doesn't accumulate in the chassis and everything remains in the blue field. Selective temperatures clearly increase during maximum stress over several hours. We measure 47 degrees Celsius in the vent's vicinity. That is however only a selective rate. The average is only 31.5 degrees Celsius.<a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/toshiba-pa3692u-1brs.htm">Toshiba PA3692U-1BRS Battery</a></p>
<p>The processor's temperature sensors report up to 96 degrees during the stress test. The GPU only heated up to 85 degrees. The system remained stable during the test of several hours, but something prompted us to take a closer look. <a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/fujitsu-stylistic-st4000p.htm">Fujitsu Stylistic ST4000P Battery</a></p>
<p>While the GPU didn't limit its 800/900 MHz clock rate in any scenario, the CPU experienced throttling (see screenshots). A CPU benchmark, such as WPrime or Prime95, causes a slight clock rate decrease of about 100 MHz. HWinfo marks the second core with a red &quot;throttling&quot;. This is also the core that reaches the highest temperature with 96 degrees. Throttling doesn't turn up in Stamina mode during WPrime.<a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/fujitsu-stylistic-st4110.htm">Fujitsu Stylistic ST4110 Battery</a></p>
<p>The mini stereo loudspeakers above the keys supply an extremely treble-heavy sound. The volume is quite high, but no one will voluntarily turn up the shattering sound higher than 50%. The Dolby sound enhancements (Surround, Audio Enhancer) only have an effect with external loudspeakers.<a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/fujitsu-stylistic-st4110p.htm">Fujitsu Stylistic ST4110P Battery</a></p>
<p>The 13.3 incher, with its 50 watt hour lithium polymer battery (4540 mAh), provides strong runtimes. It's good for five hours while surfing on the internet (via WLAN). The battery life was measured in Stamina mode (Intel HD 3000) in a brightness of about 100 cd/m2. Our standard model, VPC-SB1S1E/W, with an i5-2410M, lasted for the same period in the WLAN test: 5:13 hours.<a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/fujitsu-stylistic-st4120.htm">Fujitsu Stylistic ST4120 Battery</a></p>
<p>The Vaio SB can clearly last longer with reduced brightness and idle mode. The Reader's Test first ends after 8:40 hours (text reading in min. brightness). The hardware has more decoding work with a BluRay than with a DVD. Consequently, the runtime sinks to 3:57 hours (-21 minutes in comparison to DVD). Only 2:47 hours pass until the next movie session can start (charging time).<a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/fujitsu-stylistic-st4120p.htm">Fujitsu Stylistic ST4120P Battery</a><br />
    <br />
The power consumption confirms a fact that is very typical for Sandy Bridge systems. A very large range is found between idle and high load (CPU/GPU). This is good because it shows that the adaptive power consumption (Turbo Boost) works. The idle power consumption ranges between 10 watts (Stamina mode, Intel HD, minimum brightness) and 19 watts (Speed mode, HD 6470, maximum brightness). <a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/fujitsu-stylistic-st4121.htm">Fujitsu Stylistic ST4121 Battery</a></p>
<p>Operation with load (Speed mode) is the exact opposite. 3DMark 2006 consumes 55 watts. It's even 66 watts in the stress test. The compact 90 watt adapter (309 grams is perfectly designed for this and can even recharge the battery. The same power adapter model is used for the docking station.<a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/fujitsu-stylistic-st4121p.htm">Fujitsu Stylistic ST4121P Battery</a></p>
<p>The Vaio VPC-SB1Z9EB earns itself a solid GOOD in the total rating with a healthy mix of business features, good workmanship and versatile performance. It reaches the best scores in the heavily processor driven application performance and the low weight. <a href="http://www.laptopbatterymag.com/fujitsu-stylistic-st5010.htm">Fujitsu Stylistic ST5010 Battery</a></p>

Review ProBook 4405s Battery
Which games will run and how well, we have tested with a few of the latest games. The results can be viewed in our sizeable database "Computer Games on Laptop Graphic cards".HP ProBook 4405 Battery

The cooling system, like the CPU, only knows one speed. In all test scenarios, the fan ran continually at the same speed. The volume level was measured at 32.8 dB(A); only during DVD video playback, we noted an elevated level of 35.8 dB(A). This was not the fault of the fan but the DVD drive.HP ProBook 4405s Battery

HP ProBook 4406 Battery Thanks to the weak CPU, (18 watt TDP), not much heat is generated inside or on the surfaces of the notebook. Underneath, only one area passes 34 degrees Celsius (93 F), even when placing the CPU/GPU under load. The average temperature under full load did not pass 29.3 degrees Celsius (85 F). Top surfaces remained notably cooler than the bottom, measuring only 30,3 degrees Celsius (87 F).HP ProBook 4406s Battery

In idle mode, temperatures on the upper surface measured between 24.2 degrees Celsius (76 F) and 25.1 degrees Celsius (77 F) and bottom surfaces reached between 24.1 (76 F) and 28.5 degrees Celsius (83 F). The Powersupply reached up to 29 degrees Celsius (85 F) under full load.HP ProBook 4410s Battery

For Audio, two Altec Lansing speakers are mounted above the keyboard. These small speakers produce good sound, but the more you turn up the volume, the more they rattle - eventually the entire Notebook housing ends up being utilized as a speaker cabinet.HP ProBook 4411 Battery

Still, the sound quality is usable and was able to convince us.HP ProBook 4411s Battery

In regards to power consumption, the HP 635 is frugal; under load, the power supply merely drew 20.1 Watts. In idle mode, consumption varied depending on the brightness setting of the display between 7.5 and 10.9 Watts.HP ProBook 4412 Battery

Away from an outlet, you can surf the net with the HP 635 LH416EA#ABD for up to 5 hours. This runtime is made possible by a 6 cell Lithium-Ion battery, featuring 47Wh. The battery also convinced us in the "reader's test" (maximum battery runtime is measured with WiFi turned off, maximum power savings preset activated, lowest LCD brightness), with almost 6 hours 30 minutes (384 minutes).HP ProBook 4412s Battery

In the "Classic Test" (maximum display brightness, all energy saving features deactivated, WiFi turned on) the notebook turned off after 170 minutes. Runtime during DVD playback is also good; the battery kept the notebook going for a bit over 3 hours 30 minutes, before it needed to return to an electrical outlet. Charging the battery to 100 percent completed in 142 minutes.HP ProBook 4412s Battery

Could not convince us completely: the HP 635 LH416EA#ABDThe HP 635 LH416EA#ABD by Hewlett Packard couldn't convince us completely, but it will surely replace any typewriter. Like in the good old days; the high end system remains at home, while the low cost notebook comes along when you're out and about.HP ProBook 4413 Battery

Visually, the HP 635 does not have to hide behind more expensive systems, though that's largely a matter of taste. The workmanship does betray the low cost, and stability suffers from the use of thin plastic. The usual quality of more expensive HP notebooks can't be expected for this 350 euro low cost model.HP ProBook 4413s Battery

The hardware used inside also forces acceptance of quite a few drawbacks. The 1.5GHz AMD E-240 single-core CPU with its integrated AMD Radeon HD 6310 is completely overtaxed with HD video footage and modern games.HP ProBook 4415 Battery

Those looking for a low cost notebook are well advised to consider a model from the HP 635-series. Regrettably not with this particular model (LH416EA#ABD), because the single core processor is definitely too slow and turns the use of Windows 7 into a waiting game. HP ProBook 4415s Battery

Long load times are pre-programmed. As applications do not start immediately, one tends to click again, making things even worse, as a second copy is getting started. HP should have installed a dual-core CPU or just cut this model from their line up.HP ProBook 4416s Battery

Alternative Models from HP's 635-series are available at HP's website (US).HP ProBook 4418 Battery

HP Recovery Manager, HP Support Assistant, HP Wireless Assistant, Cyberlink Power DVD, Cyberlink Power 2 Go, Cyberlink YouCam BE, Symantec Norton Internet Security 2011, Microsoft Office 2010, 12 Months Warranty.HP ProBook 4418s Battery

High performance tablet. The Eee PC creator's answer to iPad & co. is a tablet with the performance of a subnotebook. In any case, an Intel Core i5 CPU, a 4 GB RAM, a 12" display and Windows 7 rouse interest. We've tested the other things that Asus has come up with.HP EliteBook 2740p Tablet PC HP COMPAQ 2740p Tablet PC Battery

Tablets are currently being sold like hotcakes. Apple has revived an almost forgotten sector with its iPad and has developed a product that many thought impossible at the time. The iPad 2 has now been available for a few days and has caused big crowds in some places. Hp Mini 210 Battery

While many manufacturers attempt to catch up to the best of the class, Apple can lay back and relax due to the incredibly high demand. The completion is partly going different ways in order to still get a piece of the cake. Everything can be found, starting with cheap products up to iPad imitations.HPCOMPAQ Mini CQ20 Battery

Looking at the temperatures, you'll quickly notice that strong hardware has been installed in the Packard Bell EasyNote TS11. The laptop's case heats up evidently when the system is put under load. The case reaches up to 49 degrees Celsius on the top and this of all places in the area of the touchpad. Samsung R522 battery

Fortunately, both sides of the wrist-rest are a lot cooler with 34.8 and 29.8 degrees Celsius. Nevertheless, the top's average temperature of 37.9 degrees Celsius is quite high. The case's bottom heats up to a maximum of 47.3 degrees Celsius and is in a range where it can get unpleasant when the notebook is placed on the lap. This will likely be a few degrees more in the summer.Samsung R540 battery

The EasyNote TS11 shows itself compliant again in idle or with little load (office). The temperatures on the laptop's top and bottom are considerably below the 30 degrees Celsius mark.Samsung R560 battery

We try to simulate the highest performance mode in our stress test. We use Prime95 and Furmark for this in order to load both processor and graphics card to the full. We check if any performance cave-ins occur in the subsequent benchmark. Samsung R610 battery

The temperatures increase notably in our stress test. The processor's temperature increases up to 94 degrees Celsius before the cooling system steps up a level and the processor is cooled down to about 85 degrees again. We couldn't determine any performance throttling during our stress test. Moreover, the subsequent benchmark test with 3DMark 06 benchmark didn't show any deviations compared with the previous tests.Samsung R700 battery

The speakers live up to the expectations placed on a midrange laptop. The sound quality is all right and is also sufficient to watch a movie or listen to a bit of music. As usual, the EasyNote TS11 can't exactly score with lavish basses – there is no extra subwoofer. However, the midranges are reproduced well. Even the maximum volume is high enough to fill a small room with sound.Samsung R710 battery

The Packard Bell EasyNote TS11 achieves surprising battery runtimes. The EasyNote TS 11 reaches a battery life of 5 hours and 25 minutes in our battery runtime benchmark (BatteryEater Pro). The Nvidia Optimus technology has a share in this. Samsung R718 battery

It automatically switches between the Nvidia GeForce GT 540M and the Intel HD graphics incorporated in the processor. The system switches the graphics card when the GT 540M isn't needed. This allows the system's power consumption to be reduced enormously, whereas the user doesn't notice anything. Only the GT 540M is used in our BatteryEater Classic Test, which is also noticed. The battery life sinks to 61 minutes.Samsung R720 battery

You can see why the battery lasts so long in idle in the power consumption. The laptop only needs 9.9 watts to 13.1 watts in idle. The power consumption skyrockets many times over. Our measurements show up to 92.2 watts. The consumption in standby is agreeable. Just only 0.5 watts is a good rate.Samsung R780 battery

The Packard Bell EasyNote TS11 can score in many ways. The case might be an old acquaintance, but it supplies a solid basis for the system. The keyboard/touchpad combination proves to be positive. They could score with an agreeable typing feel and good accuracy in the test.Samsung P210 battery

The system's highlight will likely be the hardware, though. The strong quad core processor of the second generation and the Nvidia GeForce GT 540M make the system look good. Thanks to Nvidia's Optimus, the system also bids acceptable battery runtimes, which occasionally allow you to move further away from the mains. That is, if the system isn't put under high load, since the battery is drained in next to no time in that case.Samsung P460 battery

The EasyNote TS11 doesn't really have any serious flaws, but there is room for improvement here and there. For example, the used display's contrast could be a bit higher and the hard disk could be a bit stronger. Nevertheless, Packard Bell offers an impressive total package at a very fair price.Samsung P560 battery

The display brightness key's labeling is confusing. Apparently the labels have been traded. However, the function is as expected (F11 dims, F12 brightens).Samsung Q320 battery

The biggest competitor is Acer's Aspire 5750G-2634G64. The Acer laptop offers the same processor and the same graphics card, but only half as much RAM. Nevertheless, it beats the EasyNote TS11 in the one or other benchmark. Moreover, it costs about 100 euros less than the EasyNote TS11.Samsung R460 battery

Speed-Booster. With the SSD 510 series, also known as Elmcrest, Intel have introduced the first SATA 3 Solid State Drives manufactured by themselves that are intended for current devices. The maximum data rate supposedly lies at 500 MBytes per second. The entry model is available now from 239 Euros (RRP).Samsung R510 battery

Intel is also jumping on the bandwagon of new SATA 3 Solid State Drives (SSDs, maximum 6 Gbit/s) and presents its new high-end models with the SSD 510 series. The standard 2.5 inch case contains 120 or 250 GBytes of storage capacity, depending on the model, which are controlled by a Marvell 88SS9174 controller. Samsung R610 battery

Compared to the recently introduced Intel SSD 320 series, with a maximum data rate of 3 Gbit/s via SATA 2, the 510 series (Elmcrest) only contains the older NAND flash memory with a 34 nanometer manufacturing process. The OCZ Vertex 3 already contains the more modern 25 nanometer components, although this doesn't provide any advantages for users.Samsung R700 battery

The 510 series is in a simple boxIn the mobile sector only the Huron River platform from Intel currently supports data transfer via SATA 3. There is currently no notebook suitable platform from AMD that supports this technology. Samsung R710 battery

ASUS UL20FT-A1 battery
ASUS UL20FT-2X074V battery The loudspeakers are equal to those in other notebooks and supply a rather thin sound. There are no basses or low pitches at all. Since the Latitude E5520 has rather more been conceived for business customers and not designed as a multimedia laptop, it is quite tolerable. Nothing speaks against an occasional movie playback. The sound quality is sufficient for that.ASUS UL20FT-2X034VS battery

ASUS UL20FT-2X110V battery The notebook's power consumption behaves pretty much like in system noise. The consumption range of 8.2 watts up to 13.1 watts in idle is pretty high. 8.2 watts is a good rate for a laptop with this configuration. 13.3 watts are sooner midfield. The rates also diverge strongly during load and fluctuate between 32.7 to 68.7 watts. The consumption is 54.5 watts when only the processor is put under load, for example with a program like Prime95.ASUS UL20FT-A1 battery

For one thing, the 60 Wh battery has an effect on the battery life and for another the hardware's numerous energy saving mechanisms. The Dell Latitude E5520 lasts for a whole 8 hours and 29 minutes without AC power in idle. ASUS UL20FT-WX034BS battery

The brightness is still bright enough to work comfortably in its lowest level. In any case, the battery lasted for almost 5 hours in our WLAN surf test. If you want to watch a DVD on the go, you have 4 hours and 11 minutes to do so. The battery life sinks to 1 hour and 17 minutes only when the laptop is really loaded and the power saving mechanisms don't take effect.ASUS UL20G battery

The Latitude E5520 is a worthy expansion of Dell's business notebook range. First rate input devices in connection with the high-end and plain design make the Latitude E5520 to a solid office laptop. The strong Intel Core i5 processor from the Sandy Bridge family gives the notebook a good measure of performance and also allows gaming on the laptop.ASUS UL20V battery

The matt display can excel with its good brightness. Moreover, it is very suitable to work outdoors. While no compromises have to be made in the shade in terms of displayed content, only minor interferences turn up in direct sunlight.ASUS UL20VT battery

It's a bit too bad that there's no USB 3.0, but the Latitude E5520 at least has a docking port on the bottom so that it can be coupled to a docking station. This enables you to expand the connectivity and provides a cleaned up desk.Asus Eee PC 1015P battery

The 60 Wh battery makes the Dell Latitude E5520 to an enduring companion. If you only put the laptop under little load, it can even accompany you through an 8 hour workday.Overall, the Dell Latitude E5520 is an able business laptop with only few real flaws.Asus Eee PC 1015PE battery

Beautiful weakling. Sony shows us that notebooks can be real lookers, with the new 15-inch Vaio VPC-EH1M1E and its attractive rippled surface design. But is it all style and no substance? We take a closer look at this head-turner in our review.Asus Eee PC 1016 battery

The new Sony Notebook VPC-EH1M1E from the Vaio E series has an unusual design, based predominantly on its rippling surfaces. The honeycomb pattern is divided into small triangles and is strongly reminiscent of shimmering mother of pearl, at least in the white version of the VPC-EH1M1E. This kind of notebook also looks very good in black, as we already saw with the Sony Vaio VPC-CB2S1E.Asus Eee PC 1016P battery

The Vaio Vaio VPC-EH1M1E/W.G4 is designed as a universal notebook, suitable for internet and office use as well as watching videos or playing games.Asus Eee PC 1215 battery

This all-rounder has an Intel Core i3-2310M, an entry-level processor from the latest Sandy Bridge generation; it is also equipped with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and a 500 GB hard drive. For graphics tasks, the Vaio VPC-EH1M1E/W.G4 has a dedicated graphics card by Nvidia, the Geforce 410M, which has 1024 of video memory at its disposal. The integrated graphics function of the processor is not used in this model.Asus Eee PC 1215N battery

The high-gloss 15.5-inch HD screen, which can display a maximum resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels (WXGA), comes in a 16:9 format.EPC 1015 battery

The notebook costs just under 600 Euros and weighs 2700 g, with dimensions of 31.3 x 369.9 x 248.4 mm. Sony also offers an alternative model, the Vaio VPC-EH1L8E, which gets by without the dedicated graphics card. This model is around 20 Euros cheaper. Can the graphics solution be any good if it only costs 20 Euros more?EPC 1015P battery

Visually striking: EPC 1016 battery The Sony Vaio VPC-EH1M1E/W.G4The extravagant honeycomb pattern of the VPC-EH1M1E/W.G4 immediately grabs your attention. If you hold it up to the light, the surface shimmers as if it were made of mother of pearl. But appearances can be deceiving; in fact they are only high-gloss plastic surfaces. Fingerprints and dust barely show up at all on the white surface. But is the design all the Sony Vaio has to offer? The answer is a definite ‘no’. EPC 1015PE battery

There can be no complaints about the build quality; we found nothing serious to object to. The white display lid is easy to open, although the base unit does get pulled up along with it. It is not possible - at least with this brand-new machine - to open it with one hand, because the hinges are very tight. EPC 1016P battery

The advantage of this is that the display immediately stays in the desired position when you adjust it and does not wobble at all. The display mounting, just under a centimetre thick, is very sturdy. Even when we applied a lot of pressure we were not able to make it flex or press against the display from behind. The Sony Vaio’s base unit appears to be just as robust.EPC 1215 battery

Asus AP21-T91
The high-quality case and price have not changed.Asus 70-OA1G1B1100 AP21-MK90 While the quality of the case serves as an example, the high price to pay for this premium quality should come as no surprise. Among other highlights are the comfortable and conviently backlit keyboard as well as the high-quality screen, which does however reflect bright surroundings and for which the choice does not exist be replaced with a matte screen. Asus AP21-T91

Despite its status as an entry-level laptop, the new MacBook Pro 13 impresses with its performance, coming equipped with a powerful CPU—especially when compared to the Core 2 Duo CPU of the previous generation. Asus AP23-T91

In return, you have to take a hit in the area of 3D graphics, which stems from the switch from the more powerful Nvidia GeForce 320M to the CPU-integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000. Nevertheless, most tasks can be handled just fine, only current games and 3D-intensive programs don't run too well.Asus 15G10N381200

Some crucial differences come to light when running Windows 7 via Bootcamp. More heat is produced (although not to critical levels), the battery life is considerably shorter, the transfer rates of ports are reduced and the various benchmark scores are lower when compared performance in Mac OS X. Keeping that in mind, the MBP 13 is really only good when using its own operating system.Asus 15G10N381200CM-2

On the Edge. The speediest dual-core processor in a compact 13" case with quiet fans? Find out why this might be a problem for Windows (Bootcamp) users but of little significance for Mac OS X users.

The model we review here is the most powerful of the new 13" MacBook Pro laptops of the Early 2011 revision, model number MC724LL/A. Compared to the starter model, the laptop here comes with a faster 2.7 GHz Core i7-2620M dual-core processor and a bigger 500GB hard drive. Asus A34-M90

At an extra 300 Euro, the more powerful model isn't exactly a bargain. Apple can claim that half of the extra cost goes to cover the Intel i7 CPU. The extra cost of the larger hard drive probably only adds up to 5-15 Euro. And the rest? Another Yacht for Steve Jobs?Asus A34-W90 L0690L6

The case of the new MacBook Pro remains unchanged compared to previous generations. Once again, the case appeals with its sturdy build, excellent feel, while remaining very compact and light weight all the same. Despite the design remaining unchanged it still appears fresh and modern. The only persistent criticism from users is about the relatively sharp front edge.Asus NBP12A100

Apple is once again stingy with the ports. A combination microphone/headphones Headset Port which supports optical audio, only two USB 2.0 ports, Thunderbolt / DisplayPort Mini, FireWire 800, Ethernet and MagSafe power connector is all she wrote. Asus A32-W7

The Thunderbolt port is a novelty which might prove very popular in the future. For now though, there are only two professional external hard drives which are compatible with this high-speed port. Thanks to its speedy transfer rates, the ThunderBolt port might find use as a docking station port, which would put to rest many of the sharp criticisms about the MacBook Pro. For now, this is only speculation, however.Asus A33-W7

The positioning of the ports is convenient for right-handed users since all the ports are found on the left side, so there's plenty of space for an external mouse. Users who like to have a mouse on the left side might feel a good deal more constrained here.Asus A32-M9

A small alteration is to be found within the case concerning the wireless internet connection. Asus A32-W7 The Broadcom BCM4331 wifi card now uses 3 antennae, helping it achieve a slightly longer range and slightly higher transfer rates. Additionally, Apple has put in place a dedicated Bluetooth 3.0 chip (most likely the BCM2070 according to iFixit), but Apple is still advertising it only as the 2.1+EDR version. Furthermore, there's also an infrared receiving for use with the AppleRemote (unidirectional).Asus A33-M9

Besides the laptop itself, the variety of accessories remains minimal, including a power supply and cable, a user manual called "Everything Mac", additional instructions called "Everything Else", two software DVDs, stickers and a cleaning cloth. The laptop comes with the Mac OS X 10.6.6 Snow Leopard operating system pre-installed.Asus A33-W7

Asus 90-NCA1B3000 The MacBook Pro comes with a short 12-month warranty including 90 days of over-the-phone technical support. There's always the option of opting into the extended warranty called Apple Care Protection Plan (ACPP), which extends over-the-phone support to a total of 36 months from the purchase date. With the recommended retail price (RRP) of 249 Euro, Apple Care comes a bit cheaper here than with the 15" and 17" models (349 Euro)—still not exactly a bargain.Asus A41-W3

The input devices remain the same as those of previous MacBook Pros, which are by no means bad. The keyboard consists of 79 normally-sized backlit keys. Among these is the somewhat small "Enter" key. Asus 90-NCB1B3000

In the typical Apple style, the special function keys: Fn, Ctrl and Command are used for keyboard shortcuts, but Windows users might be a bit frustrated about ctrl key not doing "what it's supposed to". Note: most of the keyboard shortcuts using the ctrl key in Windows use the "command" key in Mac OS X but are otherwise the same: "command + P" = print. Asus A41-A3

The keystrokes are soft with an easy-to-feel pressure point and make little noise. The keybed is very sturdy and therefore comfortable for hours of typing. There are no quick access buttons to control the hardware and no Fn key shortcuts to control wifi or bluetooth. On top of that, Windows users might miss keys like "Insert" and "Print Screen".
